From Colonial homes to serene beaches, street food to luxurious restaurants, from Bollywood to exciting nightlife – Mumbai has it all! But, the Cultural Heritage dates back to many decades and Mumbai owns a place in History for its famous sightseeings. Mandapeshwara Caves The caves are believed to have been built approximately 1500 to 1600 years ago, nearly around the same time as Jogeshwari caves (which were built between 520-550 CE). Mandapeshwara caves have sculptures of Nataraja, Sadashiva and a splendid sculpture of Ardhanarishvara. The caves are declared as an archaeological heritage site and therefore are protected under law. The Mandapeshwar Caves is an 8th Century rock-cut shrine dedicated to Shiva located near Mount Poinsur in Borivali, a suburb of Mumbai in Maharashtra, India. This Heritage visit to Mandapeshwara caves will be guided by Dr. Suraj Pandit, HoD, Dept. of Ancient Indian Culture, Sathaye College, Vile Parle. Breakfast will be provided for all attendees.
