Indian Traditional Art is culturally very rich & can give inspiration to create various artifacts which hold relevance in these modern times as well.
In order to help our members hone this art & expand it to different areas, NBT Rangmanch Club brings a special workshop series on Indian Traditional Art. The 2nd workshop in this series would cover GOND ART.
GOND ART is a beautiful folk art of Madhya Pradesh, traditionally created by the tribals. This mystical art form is created by putting together dots and lines. The imaginative use of the line imparts a sense of movement to the still images.
One of the distinctive elements is the use of signature patterns that are used to infill the larger forms on the canvas. A certain sense of balance and symmetry can be observed in the pattern used, such as spiral forms along with trees, leaves, animals and human figures. Painted in several bright colors, the placement of motifs showcasing village life and the blending of human figures with rituals and nature depict the Gonds inherited skills and creativity.
This art can be used for both wall paintings/decorative items as well as fabric design as well.
These days lot of artists are selling their warli artifacts on e portals such as amazon and commanding a good price. Rightly so, since this art is not only innovative & interesting but also very classy.
